Asian Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients:

  • olive oil
  • 2 lbs ground chicken or turkey
  • 4 cloves minced garlic (if you like garlic, use a third)
  • 1 onion, diced rather small
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce or coconut aminos
  • 2 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon ginger, fresh or out of the spice container
  • 1/3 cup hoison sauce
  • Siracha – just a dab. More can be added to wraps when eating
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • pepper to taste
  • Lettuce – butter, romaine, iceberg, whatever kind has nice big leaves
  • Water chestnuts if desired

Directions:

Splash some olive oil into saucepan, medium heat. (more oil for turkey as it’s more dry)

Cook chicken or turkey until browned, break apart as much as possible

Add onion and garlic, cook for about 2 minutes

Stir in hoisin, soy or coconut aminos, rice wine vinegar, Siracha, and green onion. Cook additional 3-4 minutes.

Add pepper to taste

EAT:

Break off lettuce, spoon in some meat taco style, drizzle on extra desired Siracha, roll it up and devour.
